Baby, It's Cold Outside

The prairies have been experiencing unseasonable low temperatures and a high wind chill factor for almost a week. Here in Eatonia the thermometer dipped to -38 and with the wind chill it felt like -51. We have had blowing snow, the streets are icy and whenever you step out the door the cold air takes your breath away.
We are watching the weather closely because our plans are still to leave here on Sunday February 10, as soon as cleanup is done at the hall. Looking at the long range forecast it should be warm and sunny by the time we head south. Let's hope its warm and sunny all the way to Nevada.

28, 27, 26......The Countdown Begins

Senor Ping got up on Sunday morning and announced that we will be on our way south in just 28 days. I got out my book and started making lists of everything we need to do before we leave. I know that to some people four weeks seems like a long time but when I think about everything we need to do before then and how busy we will be the week leading up to our departure I am thinking I should start packing today. Well, maybe tomorrow. We woke up this morning to howling winds and although we had plus temperatures yesterday it has dropped back down and the wind chill is climbing. Let's hope that the next 26 days are not below normal temperatures because that could make for a very long 26 days!!
